IDEA
in the beginning the idea really was just to make streetwear cause no one really did it

am anfang war die Idee einfach streetwear zu machen weil es sonst niemand wirklich machte

 

FOCUS
stussy version of streetwear is taking garments that have existed in american sportswear or culture some time and making it street not inventing clothing that's too fashion it is keeping streetwear pretty real trying to make wearable clothing we make the look that we always understood we respect the people that buy the stuff to give them something that isn't trash to the stussy customer we feel that style is more important than fashion you can be wearing something from 70's mixed with something from today mixed with camo utility pants you style it right and it looks good that's street fashion is always kind of a secondary thing

stussys version von streetwear ist es kleidung zu nehmen die bereits irgendwann mal in der amerikanischen sportswear oder kultur existierte um daraus street und nicht erfundene kleidung zu machen das ist auch fashion es ist streetwear einfach real zu halten beim versuch tragbare kleidung zu machen entwickeln wir den look den wir immer verstanden haben wir respektieren die leute die unseren stuff kaufen ihnen etwas was kein müll ist zu geben beim stussy kunden fühlen wir dass ihm style wichtiger ist als fashion du kannst irgendetwas aus den 70igern mit etwas aus heutiger zeit gemixed tragen mit camo multifunktions hosen du stylst es richtig und es sieht gut aus das ist street fashion ist immer sowas wie eine zweitrangige sache

 

FORMULARS
we always make workwear and military american sports and then we are strolling it better on the edges message the early message was involved with the graphics shawn had a strong graphic hand and he had a strong message with that and also when the brand was younger you tend to say the message is louder now the brand is a mature brand it's been going for over 20 years even though we are still young at heart we say it a little more subtly

FORMELN
wir machen immer workwear und military american sports und dann verbessern wir es schlendernd an der kante der message die frühe botschaft befasste sich mit grafiken shawn hat eine starke grafische handschrift und er hatte damit eine starke aussage und auch als das brand noch jung war sagt man ihm nach die message war lauter jetzt ist das brand eine reife marke es läuft seit über 20 jahren und obwohl wir immer noch jung im herzen sind drücken wir uns ein wenig subtiler aus

i had met shawn in 85 it wasn't a working connection i knew shawn cause he lived in the same town that i did stussy had the kind of mentality that i wanted about a brand just to make cool gear and not being worried about the next trend and also i felt that stussy had an international following even though we are working in southern california people in n.y. tokyo london across the world know about stussy and respect stussy that is a nice thing for a designer to know

ich habe shawn im jahre ’85 getroffen es war keine arbeitsbekanntschaft ich kannte shawn weil er in der gleichen stadt lebte wie ich stussy hatte so was von der mentalität die ich mochte mit einem brand einfach coole klamotten zu machen und sich nicht über den nächsten trend zu sorgen und auch fiel mir auf dass stussy eine internationale anhängerschaft hatte obwohl wir in southern california arbeiten leute in n.y. tokyo london verstreut über die erde kennen stussy & achten stussy das ist eine schöne sache für einen designer

i had met shawn 85/86 one of those years and i was hired for what we know now as streetmarketing i then worked with shawn for a few years and at a certain point i figured out hey this was fun but maybe its time to get more serious never went to designschool when shawn left the company i was hired as the first person on the top of a list of 1

ich habe shawn 85 oder 86 getroffen und ich wurde angeheuert für etwas was wir heute als streetmarketing kennen ich arbeitete dann mit shawn einige jahre und an einem bestimmten punkt habe ich für mich rausgefunden hey das war spass aber vielleicht ist es zeit ernsthafter zu werden ich ging niemals auf eine design schule als shawn die firma verlies wurde ich angeheuert als der erste ganz oben auf einer liste auf der sich nur einer befand
