HERR ORM Shoe Trasher

A streetart exhibition last year in the Western part of Germany: One of our editors took a picture of a collage made from an Asics shoe cut into pieces, formed into a figure. With kind regards he sent it to someone in the Asics marketing department, while Herr Orm, the guy who produced the piece of art, gave it to a friend who worked in Aschaffenburg at Stylefile. She hang the artwork in her office, where she was visited by the same Asics guy who had received the photograph a while later. As you can imagine, he was quite astonished to find the original there. Once again: It’s a small world.

Herr Orm comes from the Ruhrarea, Germany. His works are somewhere between graffiti and streetart. Regarding the latter, he mainly works with items most people would call trash. He uses them as a canvas or includes them in his works as a creative element. Many of his pieces seem to be very simple at first sight, but often their title explains a lot. According to himself, he likes to work with used items “because they got character. Blank canvas is sterile and dead and gives you the impression: "A Canvas. Beware! Art!"

His portfolio includes shoes in many forms: cut sneakers, painted high heels, arranged wildly and photographed outside. His favourite material are skate shoes. He uses them to create characters by cutting them into pieces and arranging them in new ways. In addition, he is planning his next exhibition and would love to create a campaign for a nice brand. His website www.orm-online.de will launch soon. Enjoy his artwork!
